Dear Allenby Parents/Guardians,
It has been a privilege and honour to have served this community, even if it has only been for a short period of time. Thank you for an incredible six months at Allenby! I have enjoyed getting to know your child(ren) and am extremely proud of the growth and achievements made at our school. I have seen them become more confident learners, take risks in challenging situations, and thrive in the many rich activities our school offers: inquiry-based learning, STEM, the Arts, mindfulness activities, athletics, and the many leadership opportunities. I will always remember how excited students were to read to me, share their stories and projects, and how happy they were to invite me into their classroom. For this I thank the teachers: their care and commitment to creating such a positive and engaging learning environment for students was always at the forefront. In addition, we are fortunate as administrators, to have the support and involvement of our parents in school life. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to our school and for your time in classrooms, at pizza lunches, spirit days, excursions, as experts in our classrooms, and your volunteerism with anything and everything! We started new parent expert wellness sessions this year which have been a big hit with our receiving teachers and students and I know this will continue among other initiatives in the coming year.
Know that your children have brought me joy, purpose and meaning to my every day. Ensuring they were happy, safe and learning were my ultimate goals. I am a firm believer in providing as many leadership opportunities as possible for students and Allenby delivered! It is these in-and-out-of-class experiences that have fostered skill development, new friendships, a positive sense of belonging, and good citizenship for your children, our students. I know they are capable of great things and I look forward to hearing about their accomplishments from Mrs. O’Toole and staff moving forward.
Wishing you a most relaxing and fun-filled summer with your families.
