Principal’s message

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely March Break with family and friends. If, like me, you were not able to travel somewhere warm, I hope that you found warmth by a fire, under a cozy blanket, etc. as the temperatures dropped once again over the break. The temperature fluctuations seem to be continuing this week, so please ensure that you check the forecast each day to make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outdoor times throughout the school day. We continue to have many staff and students battling colds, and I am confident that the extreme temperature changes are not assisting in this regard.

Ms. Larosa was away before the break and will continue to be off for at least another week as she recovers from surgery. Ms. Ucar, a former principal at Allenby, has returned once again this year to support the office in Ms. Larosa’s absence. Given Ms. Larosa’s absence and a packed APA agenda next week, we will presenting on Growth Mindset and Math at the APA meeting in May instead.

I encourage Allenby families to follow our twitter feed to see the wonderful teaching and learning happening at Allenby on a daily basis – lots of tweets even since the break. Find us @AllenbyPS_TDSB.
