Ontario’s COVID-19 Response: Red Zone

Effective Saturday, November 14th, Toronto will move into the “Red” control level of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework.

In her November 10th statement, Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, emphasized that the spread of COVID-19 has never been greater in Toronto. In response to this upward trend, the current public health requirements will remain in place when Toronto is moved to the new framework on November 14th.

In addition, Dr. de Villa strongly recommends that social gatherings be limited to household members only and that close contact is restricted to those you live with and essential supports. This means limiting in-person activities outside the home to essential activities only: going to work or school, accessing health care, shopping for your household and health needs, and exercising. More information on Toronto’s public health measures is available here.

Following these guidelines is critical to ensuring the health and safety of the Allenby community and to helping to flatten the curve in the broader community. We ask that all Allenby families are mindful of these guidelines, especially as we move into the holiday season.
