Congratulations to the girls basketball team on a winning season! It was most unexpected as few of the girls played basketball outside of the school. But once again Allenby students have demonstrated terrific ability in the field of athletics.
The girls easily won their initial tournament and then moved on to a much more difficult playoff round. Trailing 10-0 after the first quarter of their semi-final game against John Ross Robertson, the girls stormed back to win 33-18. That led to a Conference championship game against Willowdale the following week. Although unsuccessful, the girls finished the season as Conference Finalists. Well done Alex, Anna, Avery, Catherine, Emma, Leah, Lindsay, Maya, Morgan, Rylan, Serena!
The girls would like to thank Mr. G and Mr. Roberts for their time and efforts in coaching them through the season.
