Football
We had 2 Girls Touch Football teams and 2 Boys Touch Football teams compete in tournaments in October and they all demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship and determination. The Girls teams finished as Conference Finalists and we’re awarded a banner that will be placed in our gymnasium.
One of our Boys teams advanced to the Conference Playoffs but were defeated in the semi finals by a very talented team from John Ross Robertson. Regardless of their disappointment, the team held their heads up high and kept giving your best till the end!
Thank you to our volunteers
Next opportunities
The Fall/Winter season now runs until the Holiday Break. Any Gr 5/6 Girls who are interested in playing basketball or Gr 5/6 Boys who would like to play Volleyball should listen to announcements next week for the opportunity to attend developmental practices. Once the teachers running these extra curricular activities assess the level of student interest and skills, they may choose to commit to playing other schools or offer a House League experience at Allenby. In January the sports will switch and the Boys are offered Basketball and Girls can try Volleyball if they like.
If you ever have any inquiries about athletics feel free to email mark.barta@tdsb.on.ca or risa.levitt@tdsb.on.ca.
Proper Footwear for Physical Education Classes
As we move inside to the gym it is essential for students to have proper footwear to participate in physical activities. It is unsafe for all students if boots, slippers or sandals are worn in the gym.
Please ensure your child has running shoes at school so that they do not have to miss class and sit out during Physical Education classes.
Thank you for your assistance and support.
