On Monday Google Expeditions visited Allenby and students went on virtual tours of the world. What an exciting opportunity for staff and students who used simple cardboard view finders to explore the ocean, space and other wonders of the world. Sharing the experience with classes, reminded me of children when they see their first 3D movie – reaching out to try to touch objects they feel are right before their eyes. A similar experience took place this evening as parents who attended the APA meeting were able to experience it for themselves. The world is ever-changing and it is our goal at Allenby to prepare our students for success in a dynamic, technology-intensive and increasingly connected 21st century world. This affects how we learn and teach, how students learn and how we assess student learning.
