The 2013 Sports season is coming to an end and we would like to thank the many students who participated this spring in both House Leagues and Team Sports.
Soccer
The Boys’ Soccer season ended with the boys tied for first place in their group. A tie-breaker game was played and unfortunately the team was defeated 1 – 0 by Rolph Road, ending an otherwise successful season.
The Girls’ team placed second in their tournament, allowing them to advance to the playoffs. In the quarter-finals, the girls no doubt played their finest game of the season, defeating Wilkinson 3 – 0. The team continued to play well in the semi-final but met with some bad luck as they were defeated by John Ross Robertson 1 – 0.
Special mention must be made of Danielle Konig, who postponed a trip to the East Coast to be present for our game. She has provided leadership for our team all year and will be missed next year. Good luck, Danielle!
Track and Field
The Track and Field season is still underway and 13 Allenby students will be participating in the Conference Final on Monday June 3rd at Birchmount Stadium. The winners will move on to the City Final on June 11th. A very special thank you to Mrs. Chong for making all the transportation arrangements.
