The APA Fun Fair Committee is looking for volunteers for our organization committee again this year! We have the following positions that need to be filled:
Game and Activities Committee: 2 Volunteers
This committee is in charge of organizing the Games Alley at the Fun Fair and coordinating the volunteers needed to run it. We have extensive documentation from our previous committee on what games and activities we have run in the past, including all equipment that we have in storage, and what volunteers and rentals are needed, as well as which sponsors typically fund and provide volunteers for various games and activities. In addition, last year’s outgoing coordinator for this committee has offered to walk the new members of this committee through everything and answer any questions you might have, so you won’t be going into this blind.
Communications Committee: 1–2 Volunteers
This committee will work with the co-chairs and other committees to determine the communications (announcements, advertising, etc.) needed for the newsletter in the months running up to the Fun Fair, and will write these for submission. In addition, they will update the day-of announcements script (provided on our Share Drive) for the DJ.
Volunteer Coordination Committee: 1 Volunteer
We need one additional volunteer for this committee to assist the existing coordinator in creating the day-of volunteers list, determining the number needed, and creating and managing the sign-in sheet for the volunteers. This committee also finds volunteers from the neighbouring high schools and takes shifts manning the volunteer room on the day of the Fun Fair.
Our first coordination meeting will be held in November to introduce the committees to each other and review our preparation plan and timetable, as well as lessons learned from last year.
