To All Allenby Families,
The APA has signed up to facilitate a food drive for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
As many of you may be aware, food prices are soaring and making it very difficult for many in the city to get access to food. The Daily Bread Food Bank has hit the highest numbers ever recorded in the city of Toronto’s history, with visits surpassing 2 million. One in three of the people in need are children.
We are asking our amazing community to come together to support those in need. We will be holding a food-donation drive on Thursday, May 11th, and Friday, May 12th in the morning at drop-off. We will have stations at both the St. Clements entrance and the Castlefield entrance to collect any NON-PERISHABLE foods and ask, if possible, that you bring the goods in either a reusable bag or a box. We will take the donations to our local fire station which will ensure the food is delivered to the appropriate food bank service centres.
The Daily Break Food Bank has a very high need for the following foods:
– canned fish (tuna, salmon, sardines)
– canned tomatoes (diced, whole, crushed)
– oatmeal/quick oats
– canned fruits and vegetables
Thank you for your support. We will have reminders coming in the weeks leading up to the drive.
