It seems that these days, there are more pressures than ever facing kids every day. Pressure to do well in school, pressure to play a sport, pressure to fit in, pressure to be fit, pressure to dress cool, pressure to be well-rounded… you get the idea. How, as parents, can we help (vs. make matters worse)? What is helicopter parenting vs. responsible parenting? You will hear about this, and more, on November 22nd, as we host guest speaker Dr. Alex Russell, Author of Drop the Worry Ball, who will offer a fresh perspective that aims to help parents take a positive and emotionally rewarding role in their children’s lives, while allowing them to have the opportunity to make their own decisions (and mistakes) while they are growing up. He will address the common challenges that parents face, including dealing with troublesome behaviours, supporting children at school, and controlling or monitoring children’s access to computers, cell phones and other forms of digital technology.
