FDK Update – February 28

In light of Howard Goodman no longer being part of the PART process, we will be referring you to the TDSB website for information on FDK.  The “Ward 8 PART” page contains all of the detailed information required to understand the FDK/Space issue. Below are links to the meeting notes from the first PART meeting on Feb 13th as well as other pertinent information.

The 2nd PART meeting took place on Feb 26th.  At this meeting we spent time discussing how things would proceed without Hoard Goodmans’ involvement.  We were assured that Jeff Hainbuch will continue on as Chair providing leadership, along with Audrey Amo, the facilitator of our PART Committee. While Jeff agreed to follow up with the TDSB regarding who might represent our Ward given this change, Howard and Melanie will NOT continue to participate. Jeff and his team will be facilitating and organizing both PART and Public meetings, and remain available to receive questions, concerns, etc. from our community.

The first Public meeting date has been changed due to a religious holiday and it will now take place on March 20th. At the first Public Meeting, information will be shared about the PART process and data on each of the schools in ward 8 that are affected by FDK in 2014.

At the APA meeting tonight we will give a brief update on the FDK PART process and discuss space utilization within our school. We have been able to secure another person from the PART process to take Howard Goodman’s place at our APA meeting tonight and are looking forward to a good discussion. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and they will either be answered at the meeting or collected and forwarded to Jeff Hainbuch and the TDSB to be included in a follow-up document.
