MINDFULNESS: Add a Another Sense to Your WindowWalk!

We can enjoy beautiful artwork throughout the neighbourhood using our sense of sight. Can we tap into other senses while taking a stroll?

  • Make your movement mindful with a Listening Walk.
  • Go outside (in your backyard, on your balcony, etc.) together with your family and listen for sounds you don’t usually hear.
  • For example, you might hear leaves rustling, the wind blowing, your own breath…
  • For an added challenge, become aware of sounds you don’t hear that you used to hear before.
  • For example, fewer sirens, cars, trucks, people talking, etc.
  • While it’s more peaceful to do this outside, a listening walk can be done just about anywhere. Even a noisy living room!
