The elementary provincial report card (for the period of September–January) will be sent home on Tuesday, February 14. It is designed to report on your child’s achievement of curriculum expectations and development of the learning skills and work. The grade 1 to 6 report cards will include letter grades. Junior kindergarten students receive report cards this term with all kindergarten students receiving a second report card in June. Report cards are just one way that schools help keep parents/guardians aware of how their child is doing in school. I encourage parents to use the agenda to maintain regular communication with their child’s teacher and to read the emails, blogs, newsletters, etc., that teachers use to communicate about the learning taking place in the classroom.
Parent-teacher interviews do not take place for all families at this point in the year. Teachers will reach out to parents of students whom they feel they should meet with. If a parent feels a meeting is needed, please reach out to your child’s teacher to schedule a time.
