The month of November marks National Diabetes Awareness Month and November 14th was World Diabetes Day. Room 004 has learned more about Type-1 Diabetes and wants to bring awareness to this chronic disease. Approximately one in three-hundred children have Diabetes, including one of the members of our class who was diagnosed at age four. SickKids Hospital helps so many children in our school community and around the world, and Room 004 has decided to raise funds in support of SickKids. They are doing this to help with medical research, treatment of patients, and to bring awareness to childhood illnesses including Diabetes.
