Allenby was thrilled to highlight our instrumental music program at Music Night on Wednesday evening.
Our Itinerant Strings Music program is run by Dayoung Seo. She has taught our Strings students in grade 5 and 6 twice a week since the end of November. Thirty-five students performed a variety of music on their violins, violas, cellos and the upright bass in this beginning strings ensemble.
Kinneret Sagee has been teaching both of our Allenby Band programs. Beginning in January this small group of twenty-three grade five students met at lunch once a week to learn the basics of band playing. With just a few months under their belt they were eager to share what they have learned on their trumpets, trombone, saxophones, clarinets, flutes and a baritone.
Allenby’s large grade six itinerant band program meets twice a week, and features 45 musicians, mostly studying their band instrument for the second year. These advanced students impressed listeners with some challenging repertoire and a full concert band sound.
Congratulations to all of our band and string performers on their practice and dedication. Thank you for serenading the Allenby community with the sounds of some beautiful musical instruments.
