Dear Parents and Guardians,
Have you heard of any fun and exciting events happening at Allenby? Can you take a guess? I will give you a hint! It’s not Lip Sync, it’s not the Fun Fair. It’s the Dance-A-Thon to support education in Sierra Leone! Students who are a part of the Grade 6 Me to We group have been working hard to make this event possible. With your help, we can provide education to children in need allowing them to attend school. Did you know that 67% of children in Sierra Leone don’t go to school! I can’t even imagine not going to school!
Would you like to help these Sierra Leone families? If so, you can support the education initiative by asking your friends and family for some money to donate to our Me to We fundraiser. We are asking for $20 per student, but any amount is very much appreciated. We will be selling fantastic glow items at the Dance-A-Thon to add to your donations. During this week, your child(ren) will be coming home with a pledge form for you to record the donor’s name and donation amount. It doesn’t have to be a lot of money, even if it is only a loonie, every bit counts! There will be a bin in the office for you to put your donations. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause, please put the funds, either cash or cheque, along with your pledge form in the office by March 7, 2018.
The date of the Dance-A-Thon is Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Each Grade 6 Me to We member will be going around to a classroom to educate your children about why we are fundraising for Sierra Leone and why the education initiative is so important. They will also be teaching your children more about me to we!
Thanks again for your support. We are all so excited for this upcoming event! Remember every donation counts! So let’s start changing the world!
