Understanding Race and Privilege in our Communities with Dwayne Morgan

Parents and caregivers, save the date! On April 29th, the DEI Committee, with support from the school, will be hosting a special event. 

Dwayne Morgan is a Canadian spoken word artist and motivational speaker. Dwayne began his career in the spoken word in 1993. He is the author of 13 published works and 9 audio collections of his work. Dwayne is a 2016 finalist for the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts and a 2013 inductee into the Scarborough Walk of Fame. He has shared stages with the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, the former leader of the NDP, Jack Layton, and the likes of Russell Peters and Alicia Keys. To learn more about Dwayne, click here.

Join us as Dwayne shares his story, his poetry and helps us reflect on what we can do as a community to make a difference. This event will take place in the evening and is intended for the parent/caregiver community. The talk is not designed for students.
