Have you ever wanted to express your appreciation to our children’s crossing guards? Have you ever wondered what it would be like being a crossing guard each day during the school months for a couple of hours three times a day?
During rain, snow, the hot sun, the crossing guards are there at the corners of four busy intersections near Allenby. Keeping a watchful eye on traffic and the timing of those traffic lights! They promptly lead the way across our streets, holding up their stop sign while escorting pedestrians and keeping them safe. After their morning shift, they come back again during lunch time, and return again at the end of the school day.
The school crossing guard services are provided by The City of Toronto through contracted vendors, and although they are not Allenby staff they are an important part of our school community.
This year the APA provided the crossing guards in the Allenby community with gift cards as part of our Staff Ancillary Gifts to offer our ‘thanks’ for their service.
If you would like, you can send a compliment about our Allenby crossing guards to SchoolCrossingGuard@toronto.ca.
Don’t forget to thank them next time you see them!
