Allenby had 12 primary (grades 1 to 3) students participate in the Primary Spelling Bee competition held at John Ross Robertson last evening. All twelve students performed well and Dieppe Pitre went home with the third place trophy.
There were nine Allenby students who competed at the Junior level (grades 4 to 6). Although none of our students placed in the top three spots, many were successful through several rounds. Fiona Baker made it down to the final 8 contestants. We congratulate all of these courageous spellers. Much thanks goes to Gillian Uy who helped out with every practice for many months in the Allenby library as our Junior coach.
