Allenby will be participating in the WR3 Regional Spelling Bee competition in April again this year; registration will be open during the month of January. You can register online or through the school.
On the online registration form, select WR3 school as your the contestant’s region. If you prefer, you can pick up a registration form at school and return it, along with the $35 fee (cheques are payable to Spelling Bee of Canada), marked attention Ms. Trought-Pitters.
Skills, in addition to literacy, gained by participating in the spelling bee include public speaking, listening and study skills, and perseverance. Every participant receives a certificate which is a great way to start a portfolio of accomplishments
