Principal’s message

There are many wonderful things about Allenby…parking is not one of them. I understand the congestion around the school. I appreciate the frustration when trying to find parking or drive on Castlefield and St. Clements at drop off and pick up times. Frustration, however, does not excuse behaviour. In recent days, Allenby parents have participated in hand gestures, yelling and hurling expletives towards other parents. When it comes to driving or any other type of behaviour, your children are paying attention. This type of behaviour can not only cause children to experience fear and anxiety but it also gives them the impression that, when frustrated, this behaviour is acceptable…it is not. Anger and recklessness is not an appropriate way to deal with others, a message we are trying to instil at school but actions speak louder than words. Please teach by example by being patient, driving cautiously and being respectful…your children are watching.
