Principal’s Message

Allenby is striving to maintain its GOLD ECO Schools status with various new programmes being implemented or planned for 2015. Currently, we are having students read a daily ECO tip of the day (e.g., turning down the thermostat in the winter and wearing warm clothing indoors while remembering to use less A/C in the summer by closing windows and blinds during the daytime). The TDSB is helping schools start up GREEN BIN programmes. You can help us at home by discussing what is acceptable to put into a green bin (organic materials, paper napkins/towels and tissues). Staff, students and volunteer parents are also working on plans for our new roof-top learning garden that we hope to start using once the spring weather melts all of our snow.
