Principal’s Message

“You can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore” (Christopher Columbus). I don’t think that our grade 5 and 6 students lost sight of the Toronto shoreline while on the ferry to the Island School, however, we hope that they were able to stretch their limits and learn about themselves through this outdoor education experience. Going to the Island School is a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to work together in a natural setting, and forget about our growing dependence on technology to interact with one another.  As the natural becomes more and more challenged, conservation areas are vital for teaching young students to value nature.
