Spring has really sprung when Track Meets are appearing on the calendar, May 1st for the school meet and the Area Meet is May 12th at Birchmount Collegiate.
Our Showcase #3 is also scheduled for May 1st, and once again, due to Fire Code limitations, we are only able to provide 2 tickets per performer for this Showcase. Babysitting will be offered by the APA for children ages 3+. Please RSVP to chairs@allenbyparents.com by Tuesday, April 29. Also, the annual Allenby OPEN HOUSE will be on May 7th this year.
As part of our Earth Day assembly this week, Mr. Roberts and Mr. Galofaro have invited students to enter into the first ever Allenby Earth Week Photo Contest with the theme being “Nature in the City.” Students may enter 2 photos, either electronically or hard copy, of nature that they see in the city of Toronto. For more details, check out the school website. The hope is that if children focus on the nature around them, they will advocate for saving wildlife for future generations. As the Kenyan proverb says, “we do not inherit the earth from our forebears, we borrow it from our children.”
