Now in its 7th year, what began as a way to honour a little girl, Nicola’s Triathlon for Kids has grown to be one of the most popular children’s triathlons in the country. Each year on the second Sunday of June, families come together for this fun event which encourages cooperation and not competition. Children ages 3 to 16 may take part individually or as part of a relay team completing the age appropriate swim-bike-run course. Fans and family members can enjoy seeing the athletes in action as volunteers or while enjoying the mini-fair and BBQ which is included with the registration fee. All monies raised go to Bone Marrow Research at the Hospital for Sick Children. We think Nicola would be proud.
The event will take place on Sunday, June 12 from noon till 6 pm at the Bayview Glen School (Leslie and York Mills). Children will be grouped in age waves with the youngest in first waves. The cost is $60 per individual, $130 per relay team and includes entry for the event, mini-fair, lunch, medal and NKT athletic T.
