Did your child go to school with a sweatshirt and come home empty handed? Has the new lunch box suddenly gone missing?
What can you do to make sure things don’t get lost?
1. Label all your items with first and last name.
2. Have your child check the Lost and Found every week (sometimes it takes lost items a while to make it down to the Lost and Found).
3. Remind your child to bring coats and sweatshirts (hats and mitts) in with them when they come in from recess and lunch.
Allenby’s Lost and Found is located down in the basement in the hall by the swimming pool, and we aim to keep it organized and neat so it is easy to find your missing items. But, there are no Lost and Found fairies that magically bring everything in and fold it daily. It takes the help of both students and parents to make it happen. Can you help us out this year? We are going to have some student helpers this year, but need some parents to work on our Lost and Found team. You would help in keeping the area clean and tidy, making a summary of labelled lost items each month (students will be called down to the office where you will deliver their lost items to them), and delivery any unclaimed items to a charity at the end of the month.
