As we look forward to the break in routine of winter break, as parents, I know we are all carrying a bit of extra angst this year with the recent and continuing job actions of our teachers. Believe me, I feel it too. We all want what is best for our children and at the same time respect our teachers and the important role models they are in our school. As Chair of our Parents’ Association, I want you to know that we will make every effort to quickly communicate information we receive from either the TDSB and the ETFO, but truthfully, we know only as much as is communicated through the media. We have no special powers or privilege to know anything sooner. I am also reticent to point to any particular media sites or others sites as depending on the source, the positions may be skewed. I just want to reiterate our commitment to Allenby Parents but be honest about our limitations.
The last APA meeting of 2012 will be on Tuesday, December 18th from 7-9 in the school library. On the agenda, in addition to the Principal’s and Treasurer’s reports are:
- A discussion on adding programming as a result of the work to rule
- An update from the Space Committee
- A Motion for vote: To spend up to $8200 on hush ups (link) for all Allenby classrooms.
