The next APA meeting will be held on January 25th from 7pm to 9pm in the Allenby Library. Our principal, Tracey O’Toole will be speaking about the new and exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) initiatives that are happening in our school. And, in keeping with our STEM theme, the childcare program running during the meeting will include a one hour introduction to Coding Basics generously provided by our After 4 partner, Hatch Canada. Students that are already involved with Hatch can attend the intro session and continue to work on their individual projects.
In terms of APA business at the meeting, we will be voting on a motion tabled last month to allocate $10,000 to the Kindergarten Yard Enhancement project. This project is expected to cost approximately $70,000 and a $10,000 injection will help to kick start the fundraising campaign.
