Allenby has a few exciting garden projects coming up in the next few weeks. We have to do maintenance on our Woodland garden, plant our PollinateTO garden, and we are going to partner with the Bowery Project to install a mini urban farm.
We need willing hands to help with digging, moving soil, planting, edging, and creating signage for our various learning gardens. (There is also weeding, but this is challenging as many of our native plants are considered weeds, and many of our weeds are welcome additions to decorative gardens.) We are also seeking families to commit to watering the Allenby Garden from June to August. Please commit to watering at least twice a week (three times in a heat wave). Two families took on the entire summer last year, so we are hoping to include a few more. Please sign up to water with your family!
