Dear Allenby Parents & Guardians,
Did you know that it takes about 2 700 litres of fresh water to produce just ONE cotton t-shirt? Every year, students who participate in Allenby Baseball get a NEW t-shirt! What a waste.
We need to find a way to recycle these t-shirts so that they don’t end up in landfill! Allenby students have thought of an Idea to reuse old Allenby baseball T-shirts for this year’s baseball league so that we don’t have to buy as many new shirts, and the old T-shirts will be recycled, which means less waste in the landfill!
If your child participated in Allenby baseball in recent years and received a baseball T-shirt we would appreciate it if your child could bring their shirt to school to be re-used by another child this year.
T-Shirt collection will continue from March 8 – 23. There will be a bin to collect the T-shirts outside the office and one near the St.Clements doors. Thank you for helping us reduce clothing waste!
Thank you,
Bella and Lilah
