Basketball
Congratulations to the Allenby Boys’ Basketball Team on a “Dream Season.” The team captured Allenby’s first boys’ basketball city championship with a thrilling 31 – 30 overtime victory over Brookview Middle School. Ben Blackman was a major factor in the win, scoring the only point in the 3-minute overtime. However, it took a great team effort to reach this stage of the competition and the boys were just that – a great team!
Congratulations to Ben, Marco Panozzo, Filip Jancic, Michael Childs, Jack Bleiweis, Alan Vlaykov, Adam Matthews, Matthew Chandler, Justin Allard, and manager Sam Heft for an outstanding season. A big special thank you to Mr. Roberts who gave his time to coach the team.
Volleyball
Also, big thanks to Ms. McGee and Mme Payne for coaching the girls’ volleyball team, The team played in a one-day tournament and although they didn’t advance to the playoffs, their play improved vastly over the season. Team players are Arden Parker, Emily Harper, Katie Smith, Nikki Cutler, Serena Vilde, Katie Daniels, Julia Murphy, Danielle Tekker, Frances Quilty, Milena Rzepa Sztainbok, Taylor Clapham, Emily Cesta, Danielle Konig, Ana Djurkovic, and Martha Lafontaine.
Primary House League
Mr G. will be signing up primary students for house league T-ball during the first week of April. Team lists will be posted at school outside Room 107 later in the month. A schedule will be posted on the Allenby website in April as well. The season will begin in May.
