News of the plight of the Syrian people has inspired social groups from all over Canada and the world to take action. Sometimes from great tragedy can come a greater good.
Interest in refugee sponsorship has been growing in our neighbourhood and a group of parents have formed Allenby Community Welcomes Refugees, an initiative aimed at organizing the sponsorship of a Syrian refugee family.
The goal of the group is to engage the Allenby community in this effort. As a preliminary step, Allenby Community Welcomes Refugees have constructed a very brief survey to gauge interest level.
