Because of the generous hearts of our supporters, Allenby Community Welcomes Refugees has surpassed it’s goal of raising $40,000. That number is a symbol.
It represents the compassion of our community and it quantifies the unrelenting efforts of my faithful friends in the ACWR. Most importantly, it represents hope. It gives us an opportunity to be a part of something real, something true. A chance to exercise our humanity.
Soon we will be matched with a family. The task at hand is to gather the daily essentials for their transition to life here in Toronto. Everything from temporary and permanent housing to home furnishings and clothing.
