Boomerang lunch has officially started. Please ask your children to bring everything home from their lunches (including leftover food, and wrappings). The only things that they should not bring home are their recycleable drink containers and the straws that they use.
This is an excellent way for you to find out what your children are actually eating. Before this week’s assembly, Alex Vilde (EcoSchools coordinator) took a quick look at what was in the garbage, and what was in the recycling. She found entire sandwiches, full bags of carrots and apples, full containers of pudding.
Our children are very good at recognizing the recyleable materials in their lunches, but not all of them are completely educated. If you are able to help train grade 5 students on lunch procedures over the next week or so at lunch time, please let Alex know which day you would be available be e-mailing me at alex.vilde@rogers.com.
