Principal’s message

Dear Parents,

Attached to my message is a letter from Superintendent, Vicky Branco, announcing the appointment of a new vice principal to Allenby. This letter will also be sent out via School Connects to all families today. As you are aware, Bev Purchase has been on an extended medical leave this fall and we wish her all the best.
I want to thank Jennie Ucar for joining me over the last few weeks as an acting vice principal. Her knowledge and experience, of the role and the school, have been invaluable to the staff and students of Allenby but also to Renee, Jamie and I in the office. We welcome Sandra LaRosa coming from John Wanless, to Allenby in the new year. Sandra will be a great addition to Allenby!

WINTER BREAK

The holidays are around the corner and I want to take this time to remind parents of a few items with this in mind, namely:

Extended vacations

Please call the safe arrival line in advance of your vacation and leave a detailed message of the dates that you child will be away. Notifying the classroom teacher will not prevent the automated safe arrival phone call happening each day you are on vacation, calling safe arrival will. The last thing you want while relaxing with family is to receive a long distance phone call from the school because you forgot to notify us of your extended break.

Lost and Found

Classes will visit the lost and found previous to the break however, student eyes are not quite the same as parent eyes. We will be donating items not collected after the break but no one wants a coat, mittens, wet bathing suit or packed lunch bag sitting for two weeks. Please stop by and take a look.
