I find that the weeks leading up to the Winter Break are probably the busiest weeks of the year at Allenby. Every year, I think “This will be the year that all is under control – I’m ready for it!”. Showcases, bake sales, skating trips, Island School, basketball tournaments, spirit day, pizza lunch, holiday parties, gift exchanges and all of the regular family fun outside of school. Yes, it’s busy and perhaps even overwhelming for us as parents, but according to our students, the weeks leading up to the break are some of the best weeks of the school year.
Thank you to all Allenby staff for their endless energy and dedication to our students – there is a tonne of work and effort that goes into planning all of these wonderful events and opportunities. And, thank you to all of the parents who have given their time over these last few weeks to make this time of year memorable for our children.
