What You Can Do:
We encourage all parents with children of all ages to send a letter to Karen Stintz
(Councillor for Ward 16 and for many Allenby parents our local councillor) or your local
councillor (Councillors Jenkins, Walker, or Moscoe) as well as Mayor Miller and Budget
Chief Shelley Carroll, and Trustee Howard Goodman.
In addition, we are suggesting writing a letter to our provincial representatives to ask
them to help out the City or the TDSB with funding to keep the pools open.
In order to make the letter writing a little easier, we have developed
a form letter: SOS Pool Letter
We have been advised, however, that an individual letter (even a 3 line one) carries
much more weight than a form letter
Please feel free to adapt the letter to express your individual concerns. If you use the
form letter, please make sure to include your name and address at the bottom. E-mail
address of elected officials follow.

Please take advantage of this opportunity to make a difference in the community by
getting involved as we cannot achieve this goal on our own. We intend to flood our
leaders with emails, letters and calls so that our message cannot be ignored. The
stronger the message to our voted leaders, the better chance we will have to Save our
Pool. We need your help particularly over the next three weeks as the City goes through
its budgeting processing culminating on March 31st.
