Roots of Empathy was developed by Mary Gordon, a Canadian child expert, in 1996 to help nourish empathy in society, with the intent of creating a more positive society. We are expecting to have at least one ROE program at Allenby next year.<\/p>\n<p>In order for ROE to be offered, we require a ROE instructor as well as a parent willing to bring an infant (2 &#8211; 4 months) to the classroom every 3 weeks throughout the school year. The ROE instructor meets with the family before the program begins to review the philosophy of ROE and the expectations for the visiting infant. We are currently looking for a family interested in participating in ROE in the fall.
