We are very happy that the Glee and Ball Hockey clubs got off the ground
\nthis week and are available to the over 200 students who signed up.
\nThank you to all the parent volunteers who helped make this happen.<\/p>\n
The intention of these clubs was to provide ALL grade 1-6 Allenby
\nstudents with lunchtime activities that were lost due to the climate of
\nno extracurricular activities. Several parents expressed disappointment
\nthat their kids did not get into these clubs because they missed the
\ndeadline. As this a parent run initiative, we needed to obtain permits
\nand insurance, ensure we had sufficient volunteers to match the ratio
\nof the students, and set up teams and schedules. In such circumstances,
\nand given the time constraints for parents, deadlines were necessary.<\/p>\n
Hopefully extracurricular activities will resume soon and this will not
\nbe the “new normal”. But until they do, the Allenbeat is the forum for
\nall news related to such activities. Please ensure you read this
\nregularly so, among other reasons, you can take advantage of other clubs
