Happy New Year to all of our Allenby families. \u00a0I hope that 2013 brings each of you health and happiness.<\/div>\n
The APA has lots in store for the next few months so here are 10 highlights to get you all excited!<\/div>\n
1. Lip Sync<\/strong> is scheduled for February 21st and 22nd<\/strong>. For those of you who don’t know, Lip Sync is an Allenby tradition where students (and sometimes others \ud83d\ude42 get a chance to dance and lip sync to their favourite tune. It is both a fundraiser and a night of fun and spirit. More details below.<\/div>\n
2. \u00a0At the January 30th<\/strong> APA meeting (7-9), the Parent Survey results<\/strong> will be revealed. Many thanks to all of those who participated. Results will be presented by the Survey Committee and discussion will take place following.<\/div>\n
3. We have a new Vice Principal, Elizabeth Lau<\/strong>, and on behalf of the parents, we would like to welcome her to Allenby. We look forward to working together.<\/div>\n
4. As the “work to rule” continues for Elementary Teachers, the APA in conjunction with interested and dedicated parents, will look for creative ways to provide some additional activities<\/strong>. Most of these discussions to date have taken place at the APA meetings and then posted for interest in the Allenby Update. If there are other interested parents, please contact me and I will point you in the right direction.<\/div>\n
5. The Space Committee<\/strong> will continue to work with the other schools designated and the Board to develop possible space solutions. They will keep you informed as the process moves forward.<\/div>\n
6. Fun Fair Planning<\/strong> – Fun Fair is enjoyed by all in June BUT the planning takes place soon. If you would like to be involved with a fabulous group of parents, please email Lisa Parker<\/a>.<\/div>\n
7. Hush Ups<\/strong> are being installed this week! \u00a0Allenby parents voted to purchased Hush ups for all Allenby classrooms at the December meeting. \u00a0They will be installed by parent volunteers this Friday on every chair. \u00a0If you are around, and feel like lending a hand, please contact Bonnie Joynt<\/a>.<\/div>\n
8. After 4 Winter Session<\/strong> begins week of Jan. 14th<\/strong>, ending the week of March 4th<\/strong>. For any After 4 inquiries, please contact Jennifer Pomerantz\u00a0\u00a0jenpomerantz@sympatico.ca<\/a>.<\/div>\n

10. APA Tball\/Baseball<\/strong> returns! the Blue Jays aren’t the only ones gearing up for spring training! While May\/June might\u00a0feel\u00a0like they’re far off, planning for spring APA T-ball\/baseball begins soon! It’s open to all grades JK-6!<\/div>\n
