This is the second to last meeting of the school year and  there is a hefty <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/APAmeetings\/2012_Agenda_MAY.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">agenda<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Along with  the monthly committee updates and financial briefing, there are several items of  interest for parents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a <strong>VOTE on technology spending for 2012-2013<\/strong>. The motion,  put forward by the technology committee at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/wp-content\/APAmeetings\/2012_April_Minutes.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">April meeting<\/a> is as  follows:<\/li>\n<li> Motion:  To spend up to $20,000 for four roving Smart Boards and 4 laptops with the  understanding that the school with cover the costs of peripherals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Motion: To spend up $2,500 on up to 8 document  cameras.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Motion: To spend up to $1,000 on one monitor and 2  digital cameras with the school to cover the installation costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Motion: To spend up to $5,000 on up to 10  iPads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As this is a significant  expenditure, it is important for as many parents as possible to vote!<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a presentation of the <strong>staffing model for  2012-2013<\/strong> by our Principal, Jennie Ucar.<\/p>\n<ul><\/ul>\n<p>As planning gets  underway for next year, this meeting and the June meeting (date will be  determined at this meeting as the regularly scheduled last Wednesday of the  month does not work for June) where the 2012-2013 budget is presented are  important to all of us.
