{"id":154,"date":"2011-01-22T10:33:05","date_gmt":"2011-01-22T15:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/?p=154"},"modified":"2011-01-22T10:33:41","modified_gmt":"2011-01-22T15:33:41","slug":"volunteers-needed-for-february-lice-check","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/volunteers-needed-for-february-lice-check\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteers Needed for February Lice Check"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our second 2010\/2011 school-wide Lice Check will be held on <strong>Thursday, February 3rd<\/strong> and <strong>Friday, February 4th<\/strong> with a follow-up check on <strong>Monday, February 14th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Parent volunteers are needed to escort classes to and from the lice check station.<\/p>\n<p>Three <strong>parent volunteers<\/strong> are needed for each of the following shifts on BOTH Thursday, February 3rd and up until lunch time on the Friday, February 4th:<\/p>\n<p>1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9:00-9:50<br \/>\n2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 9:50-10:40<br \/>\nRECESS (Break from checking)10:40-10:55<br \/>\n3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10:55-11:45<br \/>\nLUNCH (Break from checking)11:45-12:45<br \/>\n4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 12:45-1.35<br \/>\n5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1:35-2:30<br \/>\nRECESS (Break from checking) 2:30-2:45<br \/>\n6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2:45-3:35<\/p>\n<p>Contact Megan Dennis at <a href=\"mailto:megandennis@rogers.com\">megandennis@rogers.com<\/a> to volunteer. In your email, indicate your first and second choice of shifts (don&#8217;t forget to state which day).<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers can report to the office and will be directed to the Lice Check station from there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Until the lice check<\/strong><br \/>\nIf  your child has lice, or you suspect they do, use one of the over the  counter insecticide shampoos (recommended as two treatments about a week  apart) and\/or use lice combs daily for two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Comb in all  directions, as the nits can attach to all sides of the hair shaft and  might not be affected by combing straight down.<\/p>\n<p>Please be vigilant in checking your children and not sending them to school unless they are lice <strong>and<\/strong> nit free.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Head lice are not a sign of poor hygiene and can thrive in clean hair.<\/li>\n<li>Buzz cuts don&#8217;t help!!
